WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (March 23, 2023) – Steven A. Mayans Esq. was elected Chair of the West Palm Beach Library Foundation at their Annual Meeting on March 17, 2023. Steve is a dispute resolution professional who lives and works in West Palm Beach.
“Steve Mayans has a wealth of experience leading and supporting community based organizations. He has been an active volunteer for the American Red Cross, West Palm Beach Planning Board and SunFest”, stated Dean Dimke, Executive Director. “Steve’s leadership will ensure that the Foundation continues the forward momentum and growth that our Library Foundation has experienced over the last two years”, Dimke continued.
Additionally, Margaret Moraskie was elected as Vice Chair. Margaret is the Chief Executive Officer of Levenger, the iconic retailer of fine products for office and home based in Delray Beach, Florida. She has had an impressive career in specialty retail and has been recognized by her peers for her digital and e-commerce expertise, as well as her thoughtful marketing acumen.
The other officers elected at the Annual Meeting include: James McBrayer, Bessemer Trust, as Treasurer; Pam Slotkin, Brown Harris Stevens of Palm Beach Real Estate, as Secretary. Gary Lesser, Lesser Lesser Landy & Smith PLLC, was appointed Legal Counsel by Steve Mayans.
Steve Mayans succeeds Dianne Bernstein who served as Board Chair from March 2021 to March 2023.

The West Palm Beach Library Foundation raises funds for the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach to provide free quality programs, services, and resources that enrich and strengthen its diverse community. The Foundation hopes to create an inspired community where children excel, and adults thrive. Gifts to the Foundation support popular library programs including afterschool homework centers, summer learning programs, reading programs, teen college prep, job readiness, and adult programs in art, technology, education, culture, and entertainment.
