WPB Library Foundation Announces 2024 Food for Thought

Chair, Speaker, Location

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (February 16, 2024) – The West Palm Beach Library Foundation is thrilled to announce that Melissa Sullivan will once again chair the Foundation’s premier fundraising event, Food for Thought, to be held on November 2, 2024.

“We are so thankful for Melissa Sullivan’s leadership and devotion to the Mandel Public Library,” says WPBLF Board Chair Steven Mayans. “Every year, Food for Thought has exceeded its fundraising goals. This year promises to be the most successful event yet.”

Anticipating a record number of guests at the 2024 Food for Thought dinner, the Library Foundation will host the event at The Beach Club in Palm Beach, whose stunning view of the ocean from the second-floor ballroom will be a glorious backdrop to a memorable evening with an extraordinary guest speaker.

“We are extremely fortunate to have secured bestselling author Brad Meltzer to present the keynote address, Leadership Lessons from History’s Greatest Leaders,” says WPBLF CEO Dean Dimke. “Brad Meltzer draws upon the themes of his bestselling books and popular television shows, challenging audiences to look at their lives, work, and mission through the lens of legacy.”

His many tributes include being named “America’s Historian” and described as one of “Hollywood’s 25 Most Powerful Authors,” in addition to winning the Eisner Award for creative achievement in American comic books. Brad is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Lightning Rod and twelve other bestselling thrillers. Meltzer has also written non-fiction books and a kids’ book series that inspired the Emmy-nominated TV show on PBS KIDS, Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum.

Food for Thought brings Foundation patrons and friends together with Table Hosts who lead lively conversations. Guests select their table based on these hosts and their topics for discussion. Hosts range from authors to entertainers to community notables.
