WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (July 10, 2023) – The West Palm Beach Library Foundation has announced the formation of a new group–Supporters of the West Palm Beach Library Foundation. Its mission is to build awareness for the Mandel Public Library and the Library Foundation, as well as to assist the Foundation in raising funds for the vital programming offered at the Library.

 

The vision for its creation came from a West Palm Beach Library Foundation Board Retreat last Fall, explained Board Chair Steve Mayans. “The Mandel Public Library enjoys deep public support, and many in our community have expressed a desire for greater engagement.  We wanted to supply it.”

 

Those interested are invited to attend a Kickoff Reception on Thursday, September 28, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mandel Public Library, to become a charter member of the Supporters. An open bar and light appetizers will be provided. The Kickoff Reception will include the formation of three working committees of the Supporters:

• Event Planning: to develop bi-monthly social activities;

• Corporate Engagement: to increase corporations’ involvement and investment in WPB Library Foundation’s funding; and

• Community Engagement: to help grow the membership base.

 

Executive Director Dean Dimke remarked, “The Supporters will engage with families as well as professionals in a variety of fun and interactive activities that will support our vital work.”

 

Library Foundation board member Jill Dvareckas chairs the Supporters Board Committee and stated, “Our newly formed group, will provide our community an opportunity to support our mission to fund the life-changing programs offered at the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach while meeting likeminded people,” remarked Ms. Dvareckas.
